How Puma is accelerating future leaders

In sports and in business, speed changes the game. For Puma, one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, building a leadership pipeline that can match the pace of a fast-moving industry was critical.

That’s how their ‘Fast Cats’ Program was born - a 12-month high-potential journey designed by Jombay to prepare Puma’s mid-level managers for bigger, future-focused roles.

Unlike traditional B-School interventions that often feel too generic, Fast Cats was custom-built to Puma’s context - embedding learning into daily work routines and making development practical, relevant, and impactful.

Inside the journey:

Over the course of a year, participants experienced a blend of assessments and development interventions:

  • Assessments like a Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) and a mix of assessments, simulations & a 360° Feedback (pre and post) built a personalized foundation for growth.
  • Development touchpoints included 6 Master Classes, 2 virtual classes, and 6 rounds of coaching, all linked to real-world Action Learning Projects and Manager Connects to ensure business alignment.
  • Participants strengthened competencies like Personal Mastery, Delegation, Leadership Presence, Learnability & Openness, Inspiring People, and Innovation & Futuristic Views.

The Results

Two successful batches later, Fast Cats has become a visible accelerator for careers within Puma. Participants are now stepping into senior and critical leadership positions - proving that with the right mix of contextualized content, coaching, and experiential projects, organizations can grow their own leadership bench strength.
