How Kotak Mahindra Bank is preparing its second line managers for bigger responsibilities

Kotak Mahindra Bank didn’t want to leave that to chance. For its second line managers, the bank partnered with Jombay to design a program that would give them the skills, mindset, and confidence to step into their new roles with impact..

What the journey included:

  • Focus on key capabilities: The program built capabilities most critical for success as a second line manager at Kotak — including Personal Focus, Stakeholder Focus, Result Focus, Strategic Focus, Perspective Shift, People Shift, and Performance Shift.
  • Trainings & Interventions: Virtual and In Person Classes packed with tools and simulations, and 2 Group Connects for peer learning and reflection.
  • Assessments: Post-program evaluations through an Inbox Simulation and a Case-Based Presentation to measure application of learning, with individual reports shared.

The Impact

The program ensured participants could strengthen the capabilities most critical for their transition to a more senior role. With structured post-assessments and reports, they walked away with a clear view of their strengths and development areas, enabling them to step into their roles with greater confidence.
