EMBRACING VIRTUAL at Société Générale

Société Générale is a French multinational investment bank and financial services company with over 150 years of legacy. Their business units in India and Romania wanted to introduce a Virtual Assessment Center experience to their critical talent for the first time. The intervention’s objective was to identify the strength and development areas of critical talent at mid-senior & senior levels to help them perform their current roles better.

Jombay deployed a Virtual Assessment Center & did a number of things to ensure that the transition to a fully virtual assessment experience was non intimidating, immersive and equally impactful:

ORG SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • The Assessment Center was designed to stay true to the parent company by measuring competencies relevant to the organizational context at Société Générale. These included Business Smart, Change Orientation, 360 Communicator, Stakeholder Management, and Wellbeing 2.0.

LEVEL SPECIFIC TOOL MIX

  • The tool mix was configured to be custom to the experience level of the participants across mid-senior and senior levels – thus retaining a high touch experience.

EXPERIENTIAL ASSESSMENT EXPERIENCE

  • Keeping in mind the fully virtual nature of the Assessment Center, we deployed a mix of a personality assessment, a Situational Judgment Test, a Business Simulation and Assessor led Interventions to ensure that the experience was scientifically valid, immersive and engaging! This also included their preferred Personality Assessment (HOGAN & HARRISON).

RETAINING A HUMAN ELEMENT

  • To make sure that the outcome was personalized, we also involved external Assessors in interventions like an Employee Role Play, leadership Deep Dive Interview & Business Case Presentation – each conducted online!

CLOSING THE LOOP

  • Integrated Individual Reports & a Group Exercise Summary Report were able to provide clear indicators of a candidate’s areas of strength and areas of development. These will be used to inform future capability building initiatives.
