I felt guilty for asking for more...

A few weeks ago, a woman I didn’t know walked up to me.

She said, “I’ve been watching you on Instagram, and something you said really stayed with me. I wanted a better, more challenging role at work but felt guilty asking for it, especially since I’d already requested flexibility. But hearing you made me feel like I had the right to ask and made me believe that I could pull off more! It gave me the push I needed to speak up.”

I sat with that conversation for a long time after coming home.
